Scientific Articles of the Year 1403 (2024–2025)
Performance Report of the Scientific Publications of the Research Institute of Earth Sciences in 1403
In 1403, the Research Institute of Earth Sciences of the Geological Survey and Mineral Explorations of Iran, with a remarkable and growing performance, played a significant role in the production and dissemination of specialized knowledge in the field of Earth Sciences. Overall, 28 reputable international and national scientific articles and 2 book titles were published by the faculty members of the Research Institute of Earth Sciences.
Among the published articles, 17 papers appeared in reputable international journals (ISI), and 11 papers were published in national scientific journals indexed in the ISC database. Among the published works, one book was released in Persian and one in English, reflecting the diversity of target audiences and the international orientation of the institute. An analysis of the ISI articles based on the JCR classification system shows that out of the 17 articles, 4 were ranked in Q1, 6 in Q2, 6 in Q3, and 1 article had no Q ranking. This qualitative distribution indicates the effective and targeted presence of the institute in high–impact scientific journals. In addition, among the ISC articles, 3 papers were also indexed in the international Scopus database, further increasing the scientific value and impact of these works.
From the perspective of faculty participation, statistics indicate that researchers of the institute served as corresponding authors in a total of 3 ISI articles and as first authors in 5 ISI articles; in 2 of these papers, they simultaneously held both first and corresponding author roles. In ISC articles, faculty members participated as corresponding authors in 6 papers and as first authors in 5 papers; in 5 of these articles, they held both roles simultaneously.
Furthermore, in each of the published books (English and Persian), the first authorship was also undertaken by faculty members of the institute. This level of direct involvement reflects deep research activity, responsibility, and the central role of the institute’s researchers in knowledge production. In addition to the above, numerous articles by faculty members of the institute were published in national and international conferences.
Overall, this report demonstrates both qualitative and quantitative growth in the scientific output of the Research Institute of Earth Sciences in 1403. These achievements reflect coherent planning, targeted efforts, and strong scientific commitment toward enhancing the country’s research standing at national and international levels.
